Tackle Job Loss by Embracing Change!

employment applications
The threat of job loss affects many in today's economy. It is time to not only think about change that may be coming, but to embrace it.

Have you ever found yourself resisting change in your life? At first it starts with an uneasy feeling that you can't quite put your finger on. And then the problem becomes clearer and clearer. You are being drawn; you are being catapulted into change. And you find yourself resisting it instead of pursuing it with excitement and anticipation.

There are times we hold onto the "same" things around us in life, even when everything around us signals a change must happen. It may be the rumor of a company downsizing or that we are facing certain job loss.

Regardless, we find ourselves clinging to our old life, because those things give us security and comfort. As we resist new direction, inertia sets in, and later on confusion. As we continue to hold onto "same" and resist growth, we end up destroying the very life that we have.

Why do we resist change?

We lack faith.

Sometimes our lack of faith gets covered by our daily routines and life. We have struggled, made gains, and dealt with turmoil and change in the past, but now our daily life has a routine. We haven't had to exercise our faith, because things are going reasonably well.

And then a challenge calls us out of our routine, calls us out of the familiar, and calls us to "new" life. We are facing a job loss. The challenge requires an application of our faith, a stretching, and a putting ourselves and our faith into action.

We"ve gotten Worn Down

How did that happen? In the surviving, in working hard to provide for ourselves and our families, we've gotten zapped of our energy to persue new things. We've stopped living out of the abundance of our strengths and talents, and settled for what we had to do.

We lack Vision for the Future

Somehow in the comfortableness of the "same" in our lives, we've lost the fire. Our vision has dimmed or been obstructed; we've lost our passion.

"Where there is no vision, the people perish" -Proverbs 29:19 (Amp)

Because we've lost the vision, lost the fire for our lives, we start to rely on other people or organizations instead of the abilities God put in us. We start to perish in our thinking and our lives. We need fresh vision to thrive. We need to change our thinking about ourselves, our abilities, and our situation.
